Position Overview
Provide consulting and technical services as a digital forensic examiner. Responsible for performing tasks assigned by Director, Digital Forensics (or designated Assistant Director), and Engagement Management. Perform daily tasks associated with forensic and electronic discovery client engagements. Responsible for augmenting and strengthening personal forensic skill set, as well as enhancing the company’s forensic program.
Essential Job Functions
•Preserve and analyze data from electronic data sources, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, and mobile devices
•Investigate network intrusions to determine the cause and extent of the breach
•Preserve, harvest, and process electronic data according to the firm’s policies and practices
•Produce high quality oral and written work product, presenting complex technical matters clearly and concisely
•Form and articulate expert opinions based on analysis
•Provide expert testimony in depositions, trials, and other proceedings
•Consult with and take direction from supervisors, engagement managers, and clients regarding case investigation and status
•Maintain proficiency with industry standard tools and practices
•Maintain a high level of professionalism in all areas of performance
•Develop and broaden forensic skill set through outside training and research
•Attend and present in-house training salons
Required Skills
•Proficiency with forensic techniques and the most commonly used forensic toolsets, such as dtSearch, EnCase, and FTK Suite
•Familiarity with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems
•Familiarity with computer system hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
•Creative problem solving abilities
•Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities
•Strong writing and oral communication skills
•Well-developed analytic, qualitative, and quantitative reasoning skills
Required Experience
•Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years experience in the computer forensic or related field
