Hello,
I currently attend Florida Institute Of Technology as a Computer Information Systems Major. I go online due to being active duty Air Force.
I started this type of degree program because I want to have the option to work on Cyber Crime teams either Federal or Local when I get out.
At the time I did not know of "Digital/Computer Forensics majors"
I am basically wondering if by doing CIS, I can still have the skills needed to become part of Forensics. I looked into Champlain University which offers the degree online, but I would blow through my Yellow ribbon program benefits because of how expensive the credits are.
I was thinking of doing something like this:
CIS - Bachelors
IA/Cyber Security - Master or Central Florida offers a Digital Forensics Online Masters Program
or
Digital/Computer Forensics - BA
Digital/Computer Forensics - Masters
I feel like if I go the CIS route and then a Masters in another program i can be more diverse.
But if I go the Digital/Computer Forensics route, I actually get to learn the "Forensics side of the house...
The other option is also getting a Digital/Computer Forensic certificate along side the CIS degree.
I am a little lost what my best route would be.... any advice from those pursuing or already in the field would be amazing!
