DUTIES:
Being a Digital Forensics Instructor makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. You will serve as an instructor in the assigned TOD program/course areas of law enforcement. Typical assignments include:
Conducting training in areas such as, but not limited to the following topical areas:
First Responder to Digital Evidence
Digital Evidence Acquisition Specialist Training Program
Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist Training Program
Computer Network Investigations Training Program
Mobile Device Investigations Training Program
Seized Macintosh Evidence Recovery Specialist Training Program
Conducting advanced export training (off site) at other Federal, State and municipal facilities around the country on an as-needed basis.
Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and taking or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.
Conducting research on emerging technology, practices and techniques to enhance instructional knowledge and skill.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: In order to be considered for this position applicants must possess experience as a law enforcement officer, or agent with full arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and /or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of Federal, state, local, tribal, or military criminal laws.
-OR-
Must have held a position in the 1801 occupational series.
-AND-
You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service that demonstrates experience in one of the following: the prevention and investigation of unlawful access to US Government networked computer systems; tracking of online hackers; and/or experience in the acquisition of images from electronic media to include hard drives, flash drive, and CDs.

You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service instructing law enforcement training curriculum in the computer/network forensics topical area.
