I'm sorry you feel cheated regarding that course, but it can be found within 30 seconds how others from this very forum feel about it, and another 10 seconds how the rest of the community feels. How much research did you do before purchasing this course? Where did you look? Thanks. RBeyer wrote: Just a note of caution to anyone considering the online Computer Forensics Course offered by Infosec Institute and their Intense School subsidiary. I purchased the course in October 2012 after being told by a sales representative that the newly updated course had over 50 hours of content and was updated for the CHFI v8 requirements. Their web site represented that it had "35+ hours of live recorded streaming video" and "Access to 45+ hours of professionally produced Computer Forensics Online training from the most trusted and awarded Information Security training company" . (reference http://www.infosecinstitute.com/courses/computer_forensics_training_online.html ) The amount of streaming video provided was roughly 10 hours, there were numerous technical errors in the content, the lab manual was terrible with lab instructions that referenced labs from previous versions of the course and a "textbook" that was simply a printout of the cheesy powerpoint slides of the course. The only thing remotely good about it was that they included a $20 textbook "Computer Forensics Jumpstart". They were exceedingly unresponsive when I complained, requesting compensation in the form of a refund. For a detailed description of the events, see my complaint filed on ripoffreport.com http://www.ripoffreport.com/infosec-institute-in/adult-career-continuing-education/elmwood-park-illinois-b8b0d.htm Also, regarding my complaint placed with the Chicago Better Business Bureau ...they were of little help once Infosec Institute offered credit towards another course...why would I want another course from them as compensation??? Also, be wary of the BBB Accreditation and rating--it was of little value in this case. This training program is definitely something you should purchase ONLY if you have money to waste!!! Save yourself $2,000 and just buy the $20 book- In my opinion, it's the only thing of tangible value that they provide. If you have also been scammed by Infosec Institute or their Intense School, please file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division (http://illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/index.html) and let others know about your experience on ripoffreport.com. I wish I had known beforehand!
